Barbara Mierzejewska was born in 1959 in Ostroleka, where she lives and works until now.
Her priority is her family, followed closely by painting. Since 1976 she has been practicing easel painting, painting pictures on canvas in acrylic and oil techniques. Her work also includes murals and large wall forms including bas-relief. Most of her works are in private collections at home and abroad, including in the USA, France and Norway. She has participated in group exhibitions.
In July 2021 there will be a joint project with painter Barbara Raksimowicz Wypustek in Gdansk, as well as later other vernissages.
In her artistic world, she draws inspiration from her imagination, dreams, experiences and observations. That's why most of her paintings speak of something that significantly affects their creator at a given moment through her sensitivity.
She is also the author of illustrations for the children's book ,, In Search of the Most Beautiful Polish Dance, published in 2020.
In addition to painting, she has many diverse interests, in which extreme sports, such as paragliding and scuba diving with aqualung, have a significant place.
Her fairy-tale paintings are compared to the atmosphere of paintings by Teofil Ociepka and Henri Rousseau, i.e. between waking and dreaming.
