Oil painting on cotton canvas. Dimensions: 80 x 80 cm
The painting is the work of human hands, made in a single piece by the Artist.
Quarantine for an artist can be like manna from heaven. This whole period of confinement of society, for me turned out to be very fertile creatively! I created a surreal collection of paintings, telling the story of Gdansk 100 years ago. Out of my longing for freedom during the pandemic and my adoration for Danzig, the first painting of this series was created with the title "Danzig dancing", and in a short time, successive installments were created. Over a period of three weeks, I painted 15 paintings, which are a story about the lives of Danzig women and Danzigers as I see them. The creative process is not yet closed, which means that the story is still being created... "Colorful Dreams of Gdansk" is my vision of the free city of Gdansk, longing and love.
The painting is from the "Colorful Dreams" series. The painting was inspired by pre-war history and the German-sounding name of the then Free City of Danzig. The author's imagination evoked images of that time, retro people having fun. Plus jazz, wine and women of the time.
The dominant technique is with oil paints, which is the author's idea of this Artist.
The originality of the work certified by a certificate of authenticity. The work will be shipped in a cardboard box, having been protected by a film.
