"The desire to create a mystical sacred space in painting does not give me peace.
The painting Mysterja is like a collage, combining fragments of many abandoned interiors. In the work I used the scenery of an abandoned house: a dismantled floor, an antique gold chandelier, walls that seem to be falling apart and transforming. The abandoned space, full of unusual objects, creates the aura of a mystical temple. Silence and suddenly the soft singing of a boy and the roar of a deer resound. The voices intertwine - in time and space. The mysteries begin. Mysteries that are a call to awakening. Intense red, spilling across the canvas is meant to enhance the energy coming from the painting.
Pashkevich Ekaterina (1995, Brest, Belarus). She creates figurative paintings. Her interest in the phenomenon and aesthetics of abandoned spaces, including schools, can be traced in the narrative of her paintings. Use painting to convey mental states, combining the expressiveness of color and intense texture with the shyness and fragility of the painted figures. He lives and works in Minsk.
