The author succumbed to persuasion to paint horses according to family tradition.
The journalist, songwriter, poet and artist says of himself:
"Being even only in part a Kossak does not make life easier.
Hence I may write books, articles, and as a rule I don't move the brush. I don't move, although I like the smell of paint very much. Sketching something, someone offhand has never been a problem for me. It wasn't, but until then.
Once I was told that I would not jump Julius, Wojciech or Jerzy. However, no one asked beforehand if I wanted to jump over them. An opinion was given. So I got away from sketching human faces, horses. And I entered a world that fortunately none of the Kossaks ever touched.
So there will be no possibility of comparison."
