Biography
Painter associated with the École de Paris community. From 1923 he studied in Weimar at the Bauhaus (with W. Kandinsky and P. Klee). In 925 he lived in Berlin, and from 1933 he permanently resided in Paris. After the war, he traveled extensively, including to Italy and Morocco. He exhibited in Weimar, Stockholm, Paris and Berlin. He painted figural compositions related to Jewish folklore and biblical scenes, and was also involved in book illustration.
