Biography
He practiced painting and sculpture, and also engaged in writing. In 1920-22 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin under Willy Jaeckel. He settled in Paris in 1923, becoming a member of the Montparnasse art colony. In 1954 he moved to the United States, where he worked as a lecturer in painting in Los Angeles. During his career, he exhibited in Paris, Berlin, London and the United States. He painted expressive portraits and figural compositions, often with Jewish themes.
