Janusz Przybylski (1937-1998) - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, received his diploma in the studio of Aleksander Kobzdej in 1963. From that year he was a teacher at his alma mater, from 1987 a professor. At the same time he was involved in painting, drawing, printmaking in metal techniques and lithography, and - to a lesser extent - applied graphics (graphic design and poster). In both main fields, i.e. painting and graphic design, he won significant successes and awards. For a short time he was interested in expressive abstraction and matter painting. Around 1965, he definitively rejected his earlier experiences and focused on figurative art. He is considered by many critics to be one of the most independent representatives of Polish New Figuration painting.
