Michal Puszczynski is an artist whose main forms of expression are ceramics and sculpture. He received his artistic education at the State High School of Fine Arts in Czestochowa, and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. Currently, he continues to be associated with the Academy in Wroclaw, where he works as a lecturer at the Department of Ceramics and Glass and the Department of Sculpture and Art Mediation. He has made a name for himself as a pioneer in the use of Far Eastern ceramic firing methods on the Polish art scene. When creating his works, he uses wood firing at high temperatures, while he uses natural ash glaze for decoration. He has participated in more than 200 exhibitions, symposiums and art projects in Europe, the United States and Asia. Among his achievements on the national stage, he has won the Silesian Marshal's Award for Young Artists, a Young Poland scholarship, and a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In addition, he is a recipient of the 2019-2020 Fulbright Senior Award, and a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, based in Switzerland, and the US National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA).
