Award in the shape of a cross, with sun rays between the arms. In the center, the initials medallion RP (Republic of Poland). Between the cross and the suspension ring a pair of crossed swords.

Franciszek Glowniak, born 15-IX-1912. Before the war, an officer of the National Police (Mark Number 1320) and a Soldier of the Gendarmerie (Badge Number 3294). Probably takes part in the Defensive War, then mobilized to the Polish Army in France on May 30, 1940. Joins the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade with which he participates in the Libyan Campaign from 19-VIII-1941 to 22-III-1942 (including the battles for Tobruk), awarded the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade "Tobruk" Commemorative Badge (Badge Number 1120). Later, as part of the 2nd Carpathian Rifle Baon (3rd Carpathian Rifle Division), he takes part in the Italian Campaign including the Battle of Monte Cassino (Cross Number 4967). Wounded during combat on 11-XI-1944.Awarded the Cross of Valor, the Army Medal (three times), the Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords and British decorations (Star of Italy, Star of Africa, Star 1939-45). After the war he settled in Great Britain.
