PSZnZ Plastic Eagle of the 12th Podolski Lancers Regiment.

Cellulose acetate & brass, Great Britain, 1944-45, 50mm x 33.5mmPolish eagle for cap depicting an eagle with outspread wings sitting on an amazon shield. The head is crowned with a closed crown. On the amazon shield is imprinted the letter U and the number 12, denoting the 12th Uhlan Regiment.

Polish eagle used by the 12th Podolski Lancers Regiment, 2nd Polish Corps. Economically produced from plastic (cellulose acetate) by Alfred Stanley & Son in Walsall, UK, pair of flat brass mustache mounts. Manufacturer's name visible on the back.

These eagles are susceptible to storage conditions, hence are often damaged. This piece is in good condition as shown in the photos.

This version of the eagle is mentioned in Tomasz Zawistowski's book. "Polish Eagles on Hats 1939-45" on page 95, illustration 194.
