Russia USSR Medal 1942 For the Defense of Sevastopol . The medal For the Defense of Sevastopol is made of brass and has the shape of a regular circle with a diameter of 32 mm. On the obverse of the medal; in a convex circle 22 mm in diameter; there are bust images of a Red Army soldier and a Red Navy soldier; turned to the left. A 5 mm wide frame shows the ends of two gun barrels and an anchor protruding from under the central circle. In the upper part of the frame; on the shield; there is a five-pointed star. Along the circumference of the frame there is an inscription “FOR DEFENSE OF SEVASTOPOL”. On the reverse side of the medal there is an inscription “FOR OUR SOVIET HOMELAND”.
