Traces of rubbing and soiling of the binding. Handwritten notes on the endpapers. Traces of yellowing, browning and dampstaining of pages. Block slightly loosened. The Petrograd Ritual, is a Polish adaptation of the Latin Rituale Romanum of 1614, published by order of the Gniezno Provincial Synod, which met in Petrograd in 1621. The fact that the constitutions of that synod were approved by Pope Gregory XV adds to the seriousness of this book. The Piotrkow Ritual appeared in print for the first time in 1631. The Primate of Poland Jan Wężyk, in a letter included in the introduction, recommends that Polish clergy use this Ritual. Ritual for the celebration of the sacraments in the Catholic Church in the territory of the First Republic.
