Waclaw Pelikan (1790 - 1873) - Polish physician, surgeon, censor. In 1816 he became a doctor of medicine and surgery and assistant professor at the Medical and Surgical Academy in St. Petersburg. In 1817 he became professor of surgery at the Imperial University of Vilnius, from 1824 he was dean and from 1826-1831 rector of the university. In 1823-1824 he was a member of the commission of inquiry into the case of the Philarets and Philomaths. In 1829-1831 he headed the Vilnius censorship committee. He contributed to the closure of the Vilnius university in 1832.
Stanislaw Jerzy Zugarzewski (1799 - 1867) - graduate of Vilnius University, November insurgent, emigrated to France after the fall of the Uprising, buried in the North Cemetery in Paris (Montmartre Cemetery).
