John II Casimir, 18 groschen 1662, Elbing

A beautiful piece of a well-liked and sought-after issue.

The coin is very rare.

Obverse: in the rope border the coat of arms of Elblag in a cartouche surmounted by a putto, on the sides of the cartouche the denomination marking 1-8, below in the cartouche the date 1662, in the outer border the legend:
MON-ARGENT-CIVITAT-ELBINGENSIS;

Reverse: in a corded border a crowned royal bust in armor and robe, with the Order of the Golden Fleece, to the right, in the outer border legend:
