Deed dated April 27, 1718, brought to the Drohiczyn castle by the Jews of Sokolow Podlaski, containing the magnate's obligation to pay money annually to the Jewish school at the synagogue. Date. Drohiczyn 16 May 1808. Dry seal with Prussian eagle and wafer seal with Austrian eagle, stamps of Austrian and Prussian stamp duty; signatures: "White" and "Moczulski". Cards 4, dimensions 37 x 23 cm.
Polish and Latin language. In 1718 in Krasne the Castellaness of Plock, Róża of Oginske Krasinska, wife of Stanislaw Boniface Krasinski, obliged in writing the parish priest in Suchożebry (who owed money for the lease) to pay interest to the school at the synagogue in Sokolow, considering that "the Jews of Sokolow, to my natural care are subject". A few days later, the Jews of Sokolow, including Boym Shmoylovich, Matys Idzkowicz, and Marek Abrahamovich - seniors from the synagogue - filed the letter with the land records in Drohiczyn. 90 years later, at the behest of the Jewish community, an extract was made to claim payment for the school. The document is an example of the centuries-old legal value of deeds from the time of the Republic, when it was not uncommon for lawsuits to erupt based on centuries-old records. Folding marks, minor soiling, good condition.
