Michal Smandek is engaged in the interdependence of human and natural activities, modifications of space, researching and testing the properties of matter. During his travels, he seeks inaccessible places, which become the background for land-art activities. He creates sculptures, installations and photographs. He appropriates situations with a high art factor for his own purposes. His works are based on keen observation, looking at barely perceptible processes, awareness of the gesture being made.
