Zincographic print on ark. 4.4x6.5 cm. Open book, on the left sheet an owl in a boat, on the right sheet text jw. Composition by J. Ignatowski (signed "Ignatow" on the plate above the lower edge of the book) from before 1939. J. Smetanski was a Lviv naturalist, gymnasium teacher, bibliophile. He amassed a natural history book collection of 30,000-40,000 volumes, according to various sources. His bibliophilic passion is mentioned by Chwalewik ("From the recollections of a Lvov bibliophile"). Exlibris mounted with top edge on paper backing. Very good condition.
