Biography
Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, 1974-79, graduating in the studio of Prof. Adam Marczyński. Obtained first degree qualifications in1987, second degree in 1995, and the academic title of professor in plastic arts, in the discipline of painting in 2001. Has been working at the Pedagogical University since 1979 (former Higher School of Pedagogy). Throughout his work at the University he has been very actively involved in the conduct of studies in the faculties of Art Education and Painting (among others, together with Prof. Stanislaw Sobolewski - he developed the program-organizational assumptions of the Painting faculty). As part of his classes, he teaches courses in painting and drawing. In recent years, he has twice served as head of the Department of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture. Member of the UP Senate. Awarded, among others, the gold medal for long service (2010), the JM Rector's award for artistic, scientific and organizational activities (2012). He works in painting and printmaking. He writes texts on art. Among other things, he has published two books: R. Oramus, The Joy of Painting Illusion. Essays on Art, Pedagogical University, Cracow 2004; B. Krasnowolski, R. Oramus, Romuald Oramus. Chair. Painting s 1997-2011 ( Romuald Oramus, Cathedrals. Painting s 2007-11), Pedagogical University, Krakow 2012. His works are in private and public collections, including. In the National Museum in Cracow, the National Library in Warsaw, archdiocesan museums in Warsaw, Katowice and Cracow, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Municipal Art Gallery BWA in Nowy Sącz, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Frankfurt (Oder), in the collection of Verband der Deutschen Automatenindustrie e.V (VDAI) in Berlin.
