Biography
In 1906, he entered the School of Fine Arts in Kiev, graduating with honors in 1911. Thanks to a scholarship, he left for further studies in St. Petersburg, where he studied under Jan Ciąglinsky and Nikolai Dubovsky; during his studies, he participated in the exhibitions of the Peredvizhniki. In 1921, he settled in Lodz, where he worked as a stage designer at the City Theater; in the 1930s, he also worked as a drawing teacher. He belonged to the ZZPAP Lodz District, the Start painting group and the Zachęta group (since 1957) He exhibited in Lvov, Krakow, Warsaw, Lodz, Lublin and Poznan. He dealt almost exclusively with landscape subjects - views from Volhynia and Podolia, as well as urban views of Lodz and the surrounding area.
