Biography
In 1984-1989 she studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she received her diploma in the studio of Prof. Ryszard Winiarski, Prof. Stefan Gierowski and Prof. Marian Czapla. She continued her education as an artist-in-residence in Europe and the USA: Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz (1994-1995), Spelman College in Atlanta (1996), Georgia State University School of Art and Design (1997-1998), University of Maryland (1999) and School of The Art Institute of Chicago (2002). He is currently a professor at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, Washington University. She is a member of the New York-based curator and artist organization Nomads + Residents. In 2009 she was awarded the Interdisciplinary Art Award by The New York Foundation for the Arts. She is currently represented by Galerie Samuel Lallouz in Montreal and Remy Toledo Projects in New York, and her work is in the collections of the Albertina Museum in Vienna and the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, among others.
