Albert Oszek (born 1974 in Katowice)
Graduate of postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow at the Faculty of Painting in the studio of Prof. Andrzej Bednarczyk. Studied at the Art Institute of the University of Silesia in Katowice, obtaining a diploma in the printmaking studio of Prof. Eugeniusz Delekta. In 1996, he graduated from the Higher Vocational School of Design with a specialization in graphic design in Iserlohn (Germany). The artist presents engaged art, depicting a man lost in the world of commercialism and consumption. His creative inspirations refer to masks and figures found in Pacific art, Greek and Roman mythology, social literature and the ideology of the alter-globalist movement. His works are saturated with symbols, references, codes and archetypes functioning in the human psyche and culture.
