Aleksandra Bociańska (born 1997).
The Last Warm Day, 2019.
oil on canvas, 60 x 50 cm
signed and described on the back
Aleksandra Bociańska was born in 1997 in Radomsko. In 2017, she began her studies at the Faculty of Painting of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She is currently a fourth-year student in the painting studio of Prof. Adam Brincken and the drawing studio of Dr. Rafał Borcz.
Her recent painterly explorations revolve around light and fire - primordial phenomena that are an essential aspect in existence. The alluring source of heat has a dual nature, it also carries horror and destruction. Light mesmerizingly makes it easy for a moth deceived by its charm to get burned. The line between safety and danger seems to be increasingly fading.
