Alfred Aberdam was born in 1894 in Lviv. In 1913-1914 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, later (1921-1923) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Theodor Axentowicz and in the studio of Alexander Archipenko in Berlin (1922-1923). In 1923 he went to Paris, where he became associated with the circle of the Paris School. He exhibited in Warsaw, Paris, London and Tel-Aviv, among other places. Together with Zygmunt Menkes, Joachim Weingart, Leon Weissberg, he formed the "Group of Four". He died in Paris in 1963.
