Graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She completed her diploma with honors in Prof. Jan Szancenbach's studio in 1978.
Her works have been exhibited in, among others: Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw, Grand Palais in Paris, Kunsthalle in Nuremberg, Towo Art Center in Tokyo, Museum Haus Ludwig in Saarlouis, The Polish Museum of America in Chicago and Inter Art Galerie Reich in Cologne.
She has had 36 solo exhibitions in Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Zamosc, Lublin, Frankfurt am Main, Saarlouis, Luxembourg, Bonn, Darmstadt and Cologne.
She is a winner of the prestigious Odilon-Lesur-Adrian Foundation award in Paris, "Le Salon 1979 Racines" at the Grand Palais.
The works of Anna Karpowicz - Westner are in the collections of, among others: National Museum in Cracow, Deutches - Polen Institut in Darmstadt, The Polish Museum of America in Chicago, as well as in the collections of private collectors at home and abroad.
