Biography
Portraiture is an unusual discipline that hides many secrets. Women's images add elegance and class to interiors. But it's not just decoration, it's an original, profound and, most importantly, lasting depiction of not one moment, but the entire interior of the portrayed person. As a painter of feminine mastery, I often reach for portrait inspirations.
There have been many depictions of Izabela Czartoryska, and there is nothing surprising about that. Izabela has come a long way in her life. She transformed from an inconspicuous and uneducated maiden into one of the most powerful women of her time.
The Enlightenment era loved women and its entire climate was subordinated to them, especially to those like Isabella. Her unremarkable resume, big brown eyes and boldness, elevated her to the heights of possibility. All this led to an easy choice for my heroine. Re-animating Izabela Czartoryska in a painting is a beautiful adventure, a new aesthetic entry in history, and above all, a refreshing of the memory of this remarkable woman.
