Biography
In 1929 she began her studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University in the landscape painting studio of Ferdynand Ruszczyc and Aleksander Szturman. In 1938 she became a member of the "Vilnius Group" and took part in exhibitions of the Vilnius Society for the Propagation of the Culture of the Visual Arts. The influence of Ferdynand Ruszczyc's and Aleksander Szturman's paintings is evident in the works of this period. In 1945, as part of the repatriation action, she moved with her husband Ildefons Houwalt to Poznan. She participated in the transportation from Vilnius to the painting legacy of Aleksander Szturman.
