Born in 1934, died in 2014 in Poznan. Studied sculpture at the National
Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. Winner of a competition at the International
Prague Quadrennial (1979), the International Triennial of Drawing in Wroclaw (1992) and at the
International Triennial of Printmaking, Fredrikstad (1995). He was a sculptor, painter, graphic designer,
author of installations, stage designer, educator, art theorist. His work centered around the
the issue of space. Berdyszak's work also includes ephemeral actions, large quantities of
drawing sketches and texts written and spoken on the occasion of various meetings, lectures,
presentations. The artist's works have been exhibited in Edinburgh, Paris, Montreal, Madrid and Tokyo, among others.
