Bogdan Pilatowicz is a painter who in a long, consistent creative process has created his own visual language. This language has its source in the surrealist trend, but not only. Looking for the optimal form of conveying his reflections on the world, he adds abstract elements to surrealism and often remains in abstraction while maintaining his own style.
This freedom in painting is very important to him. It is part of his personality, gives him more opportunities for expression and defends him against routine or copying himself.
His specific way of working explains this necessity to freely choose the form of visualization of his own thoughts. Each of his paintings has a title! Pilatovich has his own library of titles, which is constantly growing. His interest in the world and especially in European culture confronts him practically every day with small and large subjects that move him and about which he wants to discuss through his painting.
The creative process is very analytical with him. He chooses a title from his library and "carries" it around with him for some time considering the possibilities of pictorial expression. The next phase is sketches or drawings. After choosing a suitable variant of the picture idea, he begins to paint. Of course, in the process of painting he adds or reduces certain elements to achieve the optimal expression of his work.
Aesthetics in art is important to him. Vulgarity and sensationalism will not be found in his works.
