MICHAŁ CHUDZICKI - Born in Kraśnik, graduate of the Bernardo Morando State High School of Arts
Bernardo Morando high school of fine arts in Zamosc. From 2006 to 2011 he studied at the
Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He obtained his diploma in the studio of
Prof. Leszek Misiak. He works primarily in painting and collage, as well as in
installation, film and photography. In his work one can find many references and
clear inspirations from the art of the great masters of the Renaissance, Dadaism and surrealism of the avant-garde
20th century. He is a co-founder of the Roboczogodzina collective, with which in 2011 he
created a project as part of the Grolsh Art Boom Festival. Since 2011, he has created the figure of Bruno
Lark (1901-1936), a fictional artist, creating fictional works in support of this creation. He used
fiction as a tool to question art history, as well as to
conduct a kind of experiment exploring whether we, as viewers, need works of art,
or only art creators with their well-known names. The first solo exhibition
Chudzicki took place in 2010, and was titled Window (Art Agenda Nova, Krakow
2010). His subsequent solo exhibitions were held regularly every year in such
cities such as Krakow (Bunkier sztuki - Opowieść o tych i o tamtych 2013), Warsaw
(Gallery (-1) Olympic Center PKOI - It's hard to explain, 2011. CCA Castle
Ujazdowski - Catalogue of non-existent works, 2013), Lublin (Galeria Biała - Bruno Larek
Journey, experiment and play, 2012) and Dusseldorf (Polish Institute - Bruno Larek Den es
nicht gab, 2012). On a number of occasions the artist has also participated in group exhibitions.
Twice, together with the collective Roboczogodzina ( Knowing nature is not nature, Park
Jordana, Krakow 2012, Grolsch Art Boom Festival, Krakow 2012). He has exhibited his works at
group exhibitions: Tribute to Fangor ( ArtBazaar project, BWA Warsaw, 2011), In
Dunkeln Waldern in 2011 in Salzburg, in No Budget Show 4 at MOCAK in Krakow.
and in the exhibition Memory. Registers and Territories at the ICC in Krakow.
