Painter, illustrator and graphic artist. Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduated in the studio of Z. Pronaszko. She was a prominent figure in the Krakow visual arts community. Participating in many exhibitions at home and abroad, she received several significant awards, including a silver medal and a diploma as a member of the Tomasso Campanella Academy in Rome. Danuta Leszczynska-Kluza's oeuvre includes series of paintings "Hermitage" (1959-61), "Gardens" (1963-70), "Events" (1971), "Universe" (1975-83), series of etchings, a portfolio of gouaches "biography", prints with silk, prints with photography and others. The artist's works are currently in the collections of more than 30 museums around the world, including Stockholm, New York, Washington, Tel-Aviv, Tokyo and Edinburgh. Describing her work, critics emphasize her predilection for experimentation and the search for innovative forms of expression, the combination of heterogeneous plastic signs and the use of multiple art disciplines.
