70x70 cm, execution technique: acrylic, canvas, signature on the reverse, year of creation: 2020
The painting "Division on Canvas with Structured Triangle and Copper Polygon" by Dorota Kiermasz is a fascinating experiment in abstraction. This work measures 70 cm in height and 70 cm in width and was created using acrylic technique on canvas in 2020.
The central element of this painting is a structured maroon polygon that dominates the space of the canvas. It is clearly outlined and its texture is so evocative that the viewer feels like he can touch it and feel its structural surface. The gray triangle on the left is a symbol of stability, balance and regularity in contrast to the rest of the painting.Dorota Kiermasz is a native of Katowice. She graduated from the Art School Complex in Katowice - specializing in woodcarving. In 2006 she received a diploma from the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland, at the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting in the Painting Studio of Prof. Ryszard Hunger and the Intaglio Studio of Prof. Krzysztof Wawrzyniak. In 2008, she completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Lodz in computer graphics and web design. She deals mainly with abstract painting, which she calls "real abstraction", but she is also no stranger to such forms of expression as printmaking and applied graphics.
