Studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, he earned his diploma in the studio of Professor Eugeniusz Eibisch in 1970. In 1966, he created his most numerous series, which was "Hitchhiking Journeys." In the 1980s Dwurnik's painting became expressive and dramatic. In the 1990s, he created a continuation of "Hitchhiking Journeys," namely "Blue Cities," "Diagonal," "Blue" and "Enumeration." Currently, he is also involved in abstract art. He was awarded the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Prize in 1981, the Solidarity Cultural Prize in 1983 and the Coutts and Co International Private Banking Prize in Zurich. He participated in Documenta 7 in Kassel in 1982, the Nouvelle Biennale de Paris in 1985 and the 19th Art Biennale of Sao Paulo in 1987.
