SADKOWSKI ELŻBIETA ANNA (Samek) born in Cracow, artist, stage designer, architect. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology ( 1985) and from the Faculty of Stage Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1989). Her passion for art was awakened in her by her father, a prominent Cracow art historian, Professor Jan Slawomir Samek.
She is the author of numerous stage designs, among other things, she has realized set designs for: A. Strindberg " Dance of Death" Old Theater Cracow; A. Rimbaud " Season in Hell" Dramatic Theater Warsaw; B. Hrabal "Breaks in the Building" Studyjny Theater, Lodz; F. Kafka "Transformation" New Theater, Poznan; " With Pinocchio through the world of fairy tales" National Theater in Weimar; TV movie "Rondo Variacionis" e.t.c.
She also does design graphics, illustration. Her drawings have been published in national magazines and book publications. Among other things, she illustrated the school reading "Revenge" by A. Fredro .
At the same time she does easel painting. In her paintings one can see a close relationship with nature, its changeability in relation to the seasons, in the context of awareness of passing and being part of the universe. Her artistic output includes many exhibitions and participation in numerous international art salons. The artist's works are in theater museums and private collections in Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Canada and Brazil.
She implements original educational programs under the idea of "education through art" for children and young people by organizing shows , competitions and exhibitions of children's art. She is engaged in therapy through art, a workshop form of art visualization in youth sociotherapy centers.
In the circle of interest of the artist is widely understood humanistic attitude in relation to the human condition in the modern world. In her work she seeks, through art in the broadest sense, a bridge to dialogue across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
Member of ARVA -Association Romande pour la Valorisation des Arts in Switzerland and the Polish Association of Visual Artists.
