BIOGRAM: He was born in 1987 in Barysov, Belarus. In 2003 he entered the Glebov Art School in Minsk. After graduation, he moved to Poland, where he studied at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
Evgenii Shadko, a Belarusian artist who works and lives in Minsk, has long walked his creative path with a unique desire to experiment and a fundamental knowledge of the human being. Each of his compositions begins with reflective images found on various platforms, social networks, his photos, randomly spotted images on the Internet, which he himself, explores, transforms into his narrative. Each painting is a work composed of many individual thoughts and images.
The priority in the paintings is usually faces and body parts. A series of portraits depict figures, personalities, frozen in time, as if a frozen moment. Anatomical body parts are often displaced, altered, fragmented; the man in the picture exists simultaneously in different situations and times. In this way, the characters are pulled out of their personal histories. The documentary accuracy of photography is abandoned, and the characters are plunged into a struggle between the elements of the image and each other. The collision, penetration, displacement and layering of color masses, textures and layers bring the tactile nature of painting to the fore and leave only pose, gaze and perspective - something very unstable, almost accidental, but most essential and intimate. The objects that appear in his paintings shimmer with bright colors, and sometimes glance imperceptibly from the background, giving the viewer the opportunity to reveal more about the idea of the painting and the uniqueness of the event.
