Biography
Studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1929-34, including in the studios of Miłosz Kotarbiński and Feliks Szczęsny Kowarski. During her studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, she was active in the Union of Independent Socialist Youth "Life." Associated with left-wing communist circles, she belonged to the Artists' Club "Phrygian Cap", exhibiting with it since 1936. After the declaration of the prevailing doctrine of socialist realism in 1949, she and her husband created many paintings with titles such as "Land to the Peasants," "Thanks to the Tractorist," "Comrade Bierut among the Workers," and "Youth Brigade on the Speedboat." In 1950-54 and 1962-73 she was editor-in-chief of Artistic Review.
