Henryk Plóciennik (Lodz 1933, Lodz 2020) self-taught painter and graphic artist. He has gained a high position as a graphic artist, working mainly in linocut and autocynography techniques. He is the author of fantastic compositions with rich ornamental design, depicting, in the author's intention, the cosmic beauty and order of the world. He has exhibited many times at home and abroad, winning numerous awards. His work is represented in leading museum collections, such as the Museum of Art in Lodz, numerous national and district museums, the Jagiellonian Library and others. In 2004, the "Arcadia" Foundation named after him was established in Lodz to collect, compile and popularize the artist's work. The artist was also a lover and collector of jazz music recordings.
