Ivan Kulik was born in 1959 in Ukraine. From 1983 to 1989 he studied interior architecture and monumental painting at the Institute of Applied Arts in Kharkov. Since 1990 he has been living in Poland. The dominant part of his work is oil paintings, which are combined into thematic cycles.
Since 2001, the artist has also been creating gouaches thematically related to outstanding literary works. The first work that inspired him was "The Master and Margarita." About 700 gouaches were created in this series, 90 of which were used in a beautiful edition of "The Master and Margarita." In 2003-2004 another series was created: "Animal Farm," followed by "Don Quixote."
