In his paintings, Iwo Birkenmajer freely reaches into the past, transforming it into contemporary painting language. He uses metaphors, figurations and symbolism in his works. He communicates with the viewer by presenting his own visions and insights, leaving, however, the freedom of interpretation and not expecting to read the artist's own visions. His works are emotional sometimes not easy to receive and despite the difficult subjects beautiful. Iwo Birkenmajer's works have the power to absorb the viewer's attention by bringing out his own impressions, feelings, longings.
