Biography
From 1951-57 studied painting and scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Zygmunt Radnicki and Andrzej Stopka. Since 1981 he has been running a painting studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. He is the author of numerous theatrical and television stage designs. In 1959 he began to exhibit his painting works. Since 1976 he has been a member of the reactivated Krakow Group. He also exhibited at the Krzysztofory Gallery in Cracow: for example, "Showing a painting of a hatch section with radius r=1970 cm". In addition to painting and scenography, he does drawing, graphic design and is involved in spatial activities - installations. Jerzy Kalucki is often referred to as a "philosophical constructivist", and he himself readily refers to himself as a continuator of painting initiated by Kazimir Malevich.
