Biography
Kamila Walendykiewicz is a visual artist working mainly in painting, but also exploring the concept of post-photography. By creating a virtual representation of nature, she develops a new narrative about the need for changes in ecological thinking and explores how the concept of nature changes in different contexts. She explores online content as a constant and integral part of the world we live in, where everything comes from nature. In her artistic practice, she seeks to find a solution to the impending ecological disaster by creating a planet (POST_PLANETA) that will exist only on the Internet, referring to the theory of posthumanism and post-Internet aesthetics. Kamila Walendykiewicz is a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She holds a scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2022, she presented a solo master's exhibition at the HOS gallery in Warsaw, entitled "I can change, but I will not die." In the same year, her works were presented at the Zachęta National Gallery of Modern Art in Warsaw in a group exhibition titled "Anxiety Comes at Dusk." She also showed the POST_PLANETA website as part of the "Disaster Archive" installation at the Studio Theater in Warsaw. Participant in the exhibition "Only the End Seemed to be Within our Grasp"; with video "The Quake in Being" in Ljubljana, Slovenia at MGLC Švicarija. Winner of the "Night for the Climate" competition organized by Danfoss Poland and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. With the group project of the socially and politically engaged gallery Once It Will Be, she won the Young Wolves 2019 award in Szczecin.
