Krzysztof Polaczenko works in painting, music and writing. He draws the subject matter of his paintings directly from observations of the world around us, depicting reality in a surrealistic way. He repeatedly combines several different artistic techniques in one work. He places great emphasis on the refinement of details and the long durability of his works. His paintings can be found in Polish and foreign collections. Due to the long time it takes to create a painting, usually two months, he creates less than ten works a year. He took his first painterly steps in classes with Mr. Robert Kukla, a Świdnica-based painter, stage designer, graphic designer and street art creator. He gained further training in the advertising graphics studio with Ms. Renata Rychlicka-Benyamin, an artist who creates printmaking, painting and drawing.
In September 2018, the video "Painting Your Own Fear" was published on George Takei's international channel, showing the creation of the painting "Lunch Break." The video has reached more than 1.2 million views. His paintings have been featured in the albums "Polish Painting 2019" and "100 Paintings for the Centennial of Independence," among others.
In 2010 he founded the one-man music project horiso, in which he himself plays all the instruments (guitar, trumpet, keyboards) and occasionally sings. The project's music has been downloaded more than 60,000 times, and individual albums have garnered glowing reviews on foreign online radio stations and blogs.
2014 saw the publication of his literary debut, a novel titled. "Wanna," published by the GSMA publishing house. The book's experimental form and controversial subject matter often provoked heated discussions at author meetings. Readers appreciated the light pen and pertinent insights of the young author.
