Although painting was initially an inspiration and a springboard for design work over time, however, it has grown into at least an equal occupation. If not the main one. Providing pure pleasure of creation and satisfaction.
Despite his love of abstract painting, he himself most often focuses on human beings, directly and indirectly. Most of his works are paintings from the 'Absent' series, which has been in the making for more than 12 years and which continues to evolve and grow. The man, the protagonist is often hidden here, leaving only an impression. Although this impression and its interpretation is readily given to the viewer, the artist has thoughtful ideas at the core of the series.
The author focuses on the individual, often in contrast to the environment. Which is sometimes shown overtly and literally. Alienation, alienation, or perhaps the need for expression, self-expression to those around him, maintaining identity in modern society.
Typically, it is a male figure in a suit, delineated by a black outline filled with solid color, rarely with chiaroscuro. Often a tag appears on the shirt, so to speak, with the collar number. This small element is supposed to define the character. In a unified and uniform world, the only thing that distinguishes us is the size of the collar.
The surrounding space if defined is only by the horizon line.
The artist uses simple means and a unified color scheme, shying away from an obtrusive message, the content does not impose itself as opposed to contrasting colors and a strong outline.
Despite the long time since the creation of the first painting in this series, the artist is not short of inspiration and new ideas to continue.
The series 'Absent' was first shown in 2015 at the 'Mostowa' gallery under the telling title 'Absence'. This term has over time become the second slogan describing the series. And just as successive paintings bear successive numbers so the exhibitions are successive absences.
His paintings can be found in private collections and in public interiors.
