Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts in 1978. From 1980 to 1982 he was a teacher at the Cracow academy. From 1983 to 1984, he carried out the Traveling Academy experiment with students of Vestlendets Kunstakademie in Bergen, Norway, conducting classes in various places around the world. From 1986 to 1988 he worked at a branch of the Silesian University in Cieszyn. In 1997 he was awarded the Nowosielski Foundation Prize, awarded for the first time at the time. The most important fields of his artistic activity are drawing and sculpture. He has developed an innovative combination of these two fields, testing their interplay. He introduces the element of movement into the space he arranges, confronting it with immobile sculpture. His works are inspired by literature, mythology and mysticism.
