It was presented at the author's solo exhibition at the ZPAP Wroclaw district in the same year. It is interesting to note that either the author himself or the purchaser of the work placed the hanger the other way around, top to bottom, meaning the painting has two potential proposals for display. The painting was listed at auction at the DESA Unicum auction house in 2018.
Marian Poźniak (1928-2009) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1953. He was a professor, a long-time lecturer at the Wrocław University of Technology, and from 1962 was a member of the Wrocław School (later the Wrocław Group) established by Prof. Eugeniusz Geppert in 1961. He was a draftsman and painter working in the trend of realism, approaching structural abstraction with influences of colorism. His works are characterized by a fleshy painterly structure and a calm range of color, and can be found in museum and private collections. The moderate current prices of Marian Pozniak's work, with the simultaneous high artistic level of this author's work, make his painting attractive from an investment point of view in the Polish art market, with a tendency to increase.
