Niesiołowski Tymon (1882-1965) - painter, graphic artist, educator. In1898 he began his studies at the decorative painting department of the Lviv Industrial School, in 1900 he moved to the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts, where until 1904 he studied with T. Axentowicz, S. Wyspianski and J. Mehoffer, among others. Member of numerous artistic circles/associations, including "Group of Four," "Group of Five," Society "Podhalanska Art," "Polish Expressionists," later "Formists," SPAP "Rhythm," Avant-garde, New Generation. In 1905 he moved from Krakow to Zakopane, where he became associated with the local artistic and cultural elite. In 1926 he moved to Vilnius, where he initially taught at the School of Arts and Crafts, and later taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University. His works were exhibited at numerous exhibitions (individual and group) in Poland and abroad. During World War II much of his work was destroyed, and the artist moved in 1945 to Toruń, where in 1946 he took up the chair of easel painting at the Department of Art at Nicolaus Copernicus University.
