Naive artist, amateur film director, audiovisual artist, member of the Ukrainian Film Academy, photographer, journalist, member of the IFJ and the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, volunteer. Born in 1971 in Kharkiv. Graduated from Kharkiv Polytechnic University in 1996. In 2015 he moved with his family to Lviv. He has no art education and started painting in 2020. Sashko works in his own genre, which art critics have called "bubble naive." In Sashko Balabai's paintings, the viewer sees the author's clear stance - the search for an appropriate language for his own creative practice, expression and outlook on what he worries about and wants to discuss using, in figurative elements, his strongest weapons - self honor and humor. The author of many audiovisual projects, personal art exhibitions and participant in group projects in Ukraine and abroad.
