Prof. Slawomir Marzec, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw and Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Currently runs the Painting Studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw. Practices painting, drawing, installation, processed photography, performance and film. Author of more than a hundred individual exhibitions (including Foksal Gallery, IPS Łódź, National Museum in Lublin, CCA Ujazdowski Castle, MCSW "Elektrownia" Radom). Author of more than 250 polemics and publications on the borderline of theory and art criticism in leading Polish art magazines, as well as in foreign journals (long-time reviewer of New York's NYArts and London's Contemporary). He has also published five books (including "Superstitions of Recent Art" "Art, or Everything. Landscape after Postmodernism"). Initiator of the establishment of the Forum for New Art Autonomies active from 2014 to 2018. Author of numerous polemics fighting for the no/possible autonomy of art. Vice-chief editor of the quarterly magazine Aspirations. The program of the studio he runs invariably remains to equip young artists with the skills, knowledge and sensitivity to enable competent and independent self-definition.
