Tom Turdus Merula's paintings clearly show inspiration from Japanese culture. In his works, the artist focuses on minimalism expressiveness of form and color, but above all he paints mainly Geishas and women in traditional Japanese costumes. A characteristic feature of his works is very delicate chiaroscuro modeling and the setting of figures against neutral backgrounds. Merula's works are in private collections in Berlin, Paris, Madrid and Sidney.
