Biography
The eldest son of Tadeusz Dominik. Initially, he had no intention of developing his artistic talent, planning a career in music. He studied at high school and music school at the same time, practiced piano, then reached for the bass guitar; he played in a band, wrote lyrics, composed. After failing the art history exam, however, he decided to become a student at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where his father taught. He received his diploma in 1980 in the studio of Jacek Sienicki. After the breakthrough year of 1989, he was active on the board of the Warsaw District of the ZPAP until 1993 and worked creatively. He then began working in the advertising industry. His characteristic style is associated with English "pattern painting" - painting graphic signs that cover the surface of a painting evenly. The source of inspiration is often maps, city plans, fragments resembling graffiti. Since the mid-1990s, Tomasz Dominik's work has been enriched by computer technology.
