Włodzimierz Zakrzewski (1916 - 1992) studied at the Warsaw School of Decorative Arts. During the occupation, which he survived in Russia, he was a student at the academy in Moscow from 1941 to 1942. After returning to Poland, he became a professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1952. Painter and traveler, with a recognizable "vibrant" way of depicting explored places and landscapes, remaining in the tradition of post-impressionist painting, to which he remained faithful, creating an individual and recognizable style. The featured painting is from 1962, depicting a French landscape from the Sucy en Brie area of Ille de France, not far from Paris, where the author often stayed and exhibited. Signed in the lower left corner "W. Zakrzewski".
